Our What’s Left to Process Report is a countywide estimate. The Orange County Registrar of Voters (OCROV) does not create additional estimates for individual contests.
At most, the media can calculate how many ballots cast in a contest that have been accepted for counting have not made it into the results yet as follows.
Note: This calculation will not include vote-by-mail ballots that have not yet been signature verified, including those that voters can cure, nor will it include provisional ballots that have not been adjudicated yet.
- Go to Ballots Returned data on OCROV’s Data Central page of our website at https://www.ocvote.gov/datacentral/?tab=ballots#returned
- Click on “City” or “District” under “Customized View by” and then select the City district or District for the contest.
- The total number of ballots accepted for counting in the City district or District will appear and be broken down by political party.
- Go to the Detailed Data and Results Reports page of ocvote.gov at https://ocvote.gov/results/customized-election-results/detailed-data-and-reports
- Click on the last Results by District report.
- Go to the Grand Totals pages of the first countywide contest, such as “President and Vice President” or “Governor.”
- Find the City or District and use the number from the Ballots Cast column in the City or District.
- Subtract “g.” from “c.” to get the number of ballots accepted for counting that have not been added to the results yet.
The total number of ballots accepted for counting in “c”. will grow during the canvass period as OCROV continues to process vote-by-mail and provisional ballots we have received and vote-by-mail ballots we have yet to receive.
