Media preview on Wednesday, September 16, 2020 – The public-private partnership between the Registrar of Voters, Anaheim Ducks, and Honda Center will allow voters to cast their ballot at an iconic Orange County site.

SANTA ANA, CA – September 14, 2020 – A media preview is scheduled for Wednesday, September 16, 2020, at 11:00 a.m. to showcase how the "Super Vote Center Site" will work at Orange County's Honda Center. The Registrar of Voters is excited to announce a new partnership with the Honda Center and the Anaheim Ducks organization to expand access to voting in the upcoming November 3, 2020 Presidential General Election. For the first time in history, Honda Center will serve as a Vote Center, which will provide a full-service voting experience to Orange County voters.  

Test to take place in preparation for March 3, 2020 Presidential Primary Election

SANTA ANA, CA - Accuracy testing of Orange County's voting system will commence on February 14, 2020, and will continue until all devices have been included in the test. Due to the lengthy process of including all devices in the test, the Logic and Accuracy Test Tally may not commence until a week after the test begins. The Logic and Accuracy test is required by law to be performed prior to each election. Logic and Accuracy tests will include proofing the programming of the ballot, each ballot style and each contest position on the ballot. The process is open to the public.

The first of its kind in the United States, the Vote Center Lab will support voting and voter education for the November 3, 2020 Presidential General Election and beyond.

SANTA ANA, CA – July 30, 2020 – The Registrar of Voters is announcing the opening of its 1,125 square foot Vote Center Lab. As a fully functional, permanent replica of an in-person voting location, the Vote Center Lab was built to serve multiple purposes, such as testing processes and procedures, training election staff, educating the general public, and supporting research efforts in a controlled environment.

August 18, 2016 - For every election a random draw of letters is conducted, which is then used to determine the order that candidates will be listed on the ballot. Today a random draw was conducted by the Secretary of State - here's the order:

November 2, 2016 - Pursuant to California Election Code section 15360 (d) this serves as public notice that we will be conducting a random draw of 1% of our precincts in the November 8, 2016 General Election to be used in a manual tally of votes cast. This manual tally is used to verify the electronic tally of our voting system and the vote-by-mail tally system. The random draw will occur on Thursday, November 10, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. The manual tallies will follow the random draw and will take place until complete. Both processes are open to the public.

May 26, 2018 - Pursuant to California Election Code section 15360 (d) this serves as public notice that we will be conducting a random draw of 1% of our precincts in the June 5, 2018 Statewide Primary Election to be used in a manual tally of votes cast. This manual tally is used to verify the electronic tally of our voting system and the vote-by-mail tally system. The random draw will occur on Thursday, June 7, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. The manual tallies will follow the random draw and will take place until complete. Both processes are open to the public.

October 29, 2018 - Pursuant to California Election Code section 15360 (d) this serves as public notice that we will be conducting a random draw of 1% of our precincts in the November 5, 2018 General District Election to be used in a manual tally of votes cast. This manual tally is used to verify the electronic tally of our voting system and the vote-by-mail tally system. The random draw will occur on Thursday, November 7, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. The manual tallies will follow the random draw and will take place until complete. Both processes are open to the public.

January 25, 2019 - Pursuant to California Election Code section 15360 (d) this serves as public notice that we will be conducting a random draw of 1% of our precincts in the January 29, 2019 City of Seal Beach District 1 Municipal Run-Off Election to be used in a manual tally of votes cast. This manual tally is used to verify the electronic tally of our voting system and the vote-by-mail tally system. The random draw will occur on Wednesday, January 30, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. The manual tallies will follow the random draw and will take place until complete.
