Registrar of Voters Bob Page thanks District Attorney Todd Spitzer for helping to ensure Orange County elections are fair, secure, and transparent.
SANTA ANA, CA – October 31, 2024 – County of Orange Registrar of Voters Bob Page issued the following statement after District Attorney Todd Spitzer’s announcement this morning that his office has charged Robert Soutar, a 76-year-old Fullerton resident, with four felonies for illegally registering to vote in 2016 and casting ballots in the 2016 Presidential Primary and General Elections:
“The Registrar of Voters takes allegations of voter fraud very seriously and appreciates the work of the District Attorney’s Office helping to ensure we have a fair, secure, and transparent election.
“We encourage anyone who witnesses or suspects illegal activities related to voting or any other aspect of the voting process to report these concerns immediately to the District Attorney’s Election Fraud Hotline.”
As voter registration information is confidential, reporters must complete and submit an Application for Voter Registration Information in order to receive information about Mr. Soutar’s registration history. An application is available on our website at ocvote.gov/application.
Pursuant to Title 2 of the California Code of Regulations section 19009(a), the original signed form is required. A photocopy of a reporter’s federal or state ID and press pass, media credential, or another form of evidence that they are a journalist will also need to be submitted along with the application.
Emailed, and faxed applications are not accepted. Requests will be processed upon receipt of the completed application.
