Registrar of Voters’ Statement Regarding Bomb Threat Received at Santa Ana Office

Registrar of Voters staff and members of the public who were in the building were evacuated and are safe.

SANTA ANA , CA – November 8, 2024 – Earlier this evening the Orange County Registrar of Voters received a bomb threat at their Santa Ana office.

Orange County Sheriffs who were already onsite worked to quickly evacuate the building. All staff and members of the public who were in the building were evacuated and are safe. The evacuation took place 15 minutes before the Registrar of Voters was scheduled to stop processing ballots. Bomb detection dogs were used to conduct a search of the entire building and did not locate any explosives.

"The Orange County Registrar of Voters is committed to ensuring equal access to the election process, protecting the integrity of votes, and maintaining a transparent, accurate, and fair election system. We are working diligently to address this incident and keep all staff and members of the public who visit our office safe," said Bob Page, Registrar of Voters.
