Has vote-by-mail grown that much in Orange County? Yes it has

May 31, 2016 - We thought it would be appropriate (on the deadline to request a vote-by-mail ballot) to highlight the strong growth in vote-by-mail voting as an option for voters in Orange County.

Since 2012 here are the numbers:

2012 Primary - 685496

2012 General - 811603

2014 Primary - 749025

2014 General - 786894

2016 Primary - 849334

From the 2012 Primary Election to now requests for vote-by-mail have grown 23.9%. In 2012 there were 80,000 vote-by-mail ballots dropped off at polling places - we expect this number to increase as well.
