Notice of Election - 2026 Statewide Direct Primary Election

NOTICE OF ELECTION

Notice is hereby given that the Statewide Direct Primary Election will be held in Orange County
on June 2, 2026. 

Nomination Papers may be obtained at the Orange County Registrar of Voters’ office beginning on February 9, 2026, and must be filed in that office by March 6, 2026, 5:00 p.m. Offices for which candidates may be nominated or elected at the Statewide Direct Primary Election include: Congressional Districts – 38th, 40th, 41st, 42nd, 45th, 46th, 47th, and 49th; State Constitutional Offices – Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Secretary of State, Controller, Treasurer, Attorney General, Insurance Commissioner, and Member of the State Board of Equalization, 4th District; State Senate Districts – 30th, 32nd, 34th, 36th, and 38th; State Assembly Districts – 59th, 64th, 67th, 68th, 70th, 71st, 72nd, 73rd, and 74th; State Superintendent of Public Instruction; County Superintendent of Schools; Orange County Board of Education Trustee Areas – 2 and 5; Orange County Supervisorial Districts – 2nd, 4th, and 5th; County Offices – Assessor, Auditor-Controller, Clerk-Recorder, and Treasurer-Tax Collector; and 49 Judicial Offices of the Orange County Superior Court.

Notice is further given that starting Saturday, May 23, 2026, select Vote Centers will be open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Starting Saturday, May 30, 2026, all Vote Centers will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. On Election Day, June 2, 2026, all Vote Centers will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.

All ballots cast will be counted centrally at the Orange County Registrar of Voters’ office, 1300 South Grand Avenue, Building C, Santa Ana.

Notice is further given that Vote-By-Mail ballot processing will begin on May 4, 2026, and will continue Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. until the election is certified on or about July 2, 2026. The last day to request a replacement Vote-By-Mail ballot is May 26, 2026. The Vote-By-Mail process is open to the public at the Orange County Registrar of Voters’ office, 1300 South Grand Avenue, Building C, Santa Ana.

Notice is further given that the Orange County Registrar of Voters will conduct a manual tally of specific precincts, and will begin on June 3, 2026, at the Orange County Registrar of Voters’ office, 1300 South Grand Avenue, Building C, Santa Ana.
