Ballot Drop Box Strike Force


With the Orange County’s transition to Vote Centers and Ballot Drop Boxes in 2020, the County Employee Program has evolved to support Election Night Ballot Drop Box operations. County employees will serve as the Ballot Drop Box Strike Force Team and will be closing Ballot Drop Boxes at 8 p.m. on Election Night, June 10, 2025.

County of Orange employees are invited to volunteer for an important Election Night assignment: The Ballot Drop Box Strike Force Team!


The Registrar of Voters is recruiting select county employee volunteers to staff, secure, and lock every Ballot Drop Box throughout Orange County at 8 pm on Election Night.
This volunteer opportunity requires a one-day commitment on Election Day, June 10, 2025, and successful completion of online training prior to assignment. The workday will begin at 1:00 pm and end by 9:30 pm. By trading your regular workday, County Employees receive a full 8-hour day’s pay at your usual rate, a $100 stipend, and mileage reimbursement. When you submit an application from this page, your supervisor will automatically be emailed to request their approval.

Requirements:

  • Must be a current employee of the County of Orange
  • Complete and submit application
  • Attend and complete required training
  • Participation must be approved by your supervisor
  • Possess a valid CA Driver’s License
  • Possess a vehicle and current automobile insurance in your name
  • Have a personal cell phone available for phone calls
  • Available to work 1 p.m. - 9:30 p.m. on Election Night, June 10, 2025
