Orange County Musicians Team Up with Registrar of Voters to Encourage Election Day Volunteering

Orange County bands LIT and SAVE FERRIS team up with musician JASON FREESE to assist Registrar of Voters with poll worker recruitment

SANTA ANA, CA – Orange County bands LIT, SAVE FERRIS and musician Jason Freese (Green Day, Goo Goo Dolls, Jewel) have donated their time to assist the Registrar of Voters by recording a public service announcement promoting the need for poll workers in the November 8th General Election.

The video was released today and will be broadcast throughout Orange County via numerous media outlets (including Facebook, YouTube and several news publications). The message includes appeals from members of each band, encouraging Orange County voters to volunteer their time to work as a poll worker during the 2016 Presidential Election.

The Registrar of Voters is in need of poll workers throughout Orange County. Election Day is November 8, 2016 and hundreds of poll workers are still needed as Inspectors and Clerks. As long as an individual is registered to vote in California they are eligible to volunteer in Orange County.

LIT formed in 1990 in Orange County, CA and embraced a spunky brand of punk-pop that helped attract a local following. Their breakthrough album appeared on RCA Records and included "My Own Worst Enemy", which paved the way for platinum sales and dominated U.S. Modern Rock charts.

SAVE FERRIS is a ska-punk band formed circa 1995 in Orange County, Southern California. Their name is a reference to the 1986 film Ferris Bueller's Day Off.  The Epic Recording artists toured extensively in support of "It Means Everything", opening for bands such as Sugar Ray, The Offspring, and Reel Big Fish.

Jason Freese is an American musician, songwriter, record producer, and recording engineer. As a professional studio musician he has performed on over 50 albums by more than 35 different artists, including multiple albums by the Goo Goo Dolls, Green Day, and Jewel.

The public service announcement can be viewed here.
