Voter Registration Operations Backgrounder

The County of Orange processes from 125,000 registrations in non-scheduled election years up to approximately 300,000 voter registration forms in a presidential election year.

In the 30 days prior to a countywide election the County of Orange can process over 100,000 registration forms.

Voter Notification Cards (postcards), mailed to every registered voter, can go into hundreds of thousands a year.

Prior to State primary elections approximately 100,000 Decline to State Voter Postcards are mailed to ask the voters if they wish to receive a party ballot.

About 60,000 (per mailing) National Change of Address Cards are sent to verify registered voters’ addresses.
