Notice of Election - Orange Unified School District Special Recall Election

NOTICE OF ELECTION

Notice is hereby given that a Special Recall Election in the Orange Unified School District will be consolidated with the March 5, 2024 Presidential Primary Election. 

The purpose of this election is to determine whether the officers named in the recall petitions, Madison Miner, Trustee Area #4, and Rick Ledesma, Trustee Area #7 shall be recalled. If a majority of the voters determine the officers should be recalled, the officers are removed, and the offices shall be vacant until they are filled according to law.

Notice is further given that starting Saturday, February 24, 2024, select Vote Centers will be open 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Starting Saturday, March 2, 2024, all Vote Centers will be open from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. On Election Day, March 5, 2024, all Vote Centers will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

All ballots cast will be counted centrally at the Orange County Registrar of Voters’ office, 1300 South Grand Avenue, Building C, Santa Ana.

Notice is further given that Vote-by-Mail ballot processing will begin on February 5, 2024, and will continue Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. until the election is certified on or about April 2, 2024.  The last day to request a replacement Vote-by-Mail ballot to be mailed is February 27, 2024. The Vote-by-Mail process is open to the public at the Orange County Registrar of Voters’ office, 1300 South Grand Avenue, Building C, Santa Ana.

Notice is further given that the Orange County Registrar of Voters will conduct a manual tally of specific precincts, and will begin on March 6, 2024, at the Orange County Registrar of Voters’ office, 1300 South Grand Avenue, Building C, Santa Ana.
