Rowland Unified School District

There will be a UDEL Election held on November 6, 2007 for two school districts: Mt. San Antonio Community College District and Rowland Unified School District. While the majority of the voters domicile in Los Angeles County (there are only 91 voters in Orange County) there is a possibility that we could have candidates/questions regarding these contests. Also, due to the low number of voters in our county, this election will be an all mail ballot election.

CANDIDATE FILING:

• The nomination period begins July 16, 2007 (E-113) and ends August 10, 2007 (E-88) at 5:00 p.m.
  
  
• If an incumbent that is eligible to file but fails to file by the deadline, there will be a 5-day calendar extension for candidates excluding the incumbent. (August 11, 2007 (E-87) through August 15, 2007 (E-83))
  
  
• The election has already been created in EIMS. Candidates will be keyed in ��Brea 07��.
  
  
• There are no filing fees and no nomination signatures required to run for these offices.
  
  
• A candidate may elect to submit a candidate statement in our office with a $500.00 deposit. All candidate statements will be mailed with the sample ballot.
  
  
• The write-in period is September 10, 2007 (E-57) through October 23, 2007 (E-14).
  
  
• If a candidate domiciles and has filed in Los Angeles County, he/she may submit a candidate statement in our office for the Orange County portion of the sample ballot pamphlets.

CAMPAIGN DISCLOSURE REQUIREMENTS:

• Public Review Period for candidate statements is August 11 through August 20, 2007, 5:00 p.m. (E-87-78). If Candidate Filing is extended, the Public Review Period for those extended is August 16 through August 24, 2007, 5:00 p.m. (E-82-74)
  
  
• Absentee ballots are available on October 9, 2007* (*E-28 ? The date is adjusted due to the holiday)
  
  
• The close of registration is October 22, 2007 (E-15)
  
  
• The last day to request an absentee by mail is October 30, 2007 (E-7)
  
  
• The official canvass must be completed by December 4, 2007 (E+28)
