Vote Center Training

The Orange County Registrar of Voters’ training team prepares about 1,300 Customer Service Representatives (CSRs) each election to operate Vote Centers, working to provide every voter with the same high level of service no matter which location they visit.

As part of the curriculum, CSRs receive in-depth training on Vote Center procedures, customer service expectations, and practice assisting the public during the voting period through a simulated Vote Center.

Through this comprehensive training program, our knowledgeable representatives are prepared to support Vote Centers during the 2026 Statewide Direct Primary Election and help all voters “Vote Easy. Vote Secure.”

We are currently recruiting for CSRs with an urgent need for candidates with bilingual skills in Vietnamese and Korean. Learn more at ocvote.gov/careers.

Verify Your Voter Registration

Not sure if your voter registration is up to date? Do you need to update your address, name, or political party? You can do all this and more at ocvote.gov/verify.

If you’ve moved, we encourage you to update your address by April 3 to ensure your ballot is mailed to the correct address.

Life of a Vote-By-Mail Ballot

The Orange County Registrar of Voters maintains the integrity of your Vote-By-Mail ballot throughout the election process. 
 
The life of a Vote-By-Mail ballot starts when we print, prepare and mail the ballots. 
 
We have a high-speed printer onsite that produces the Vote-By-Mail ballots and two mail inserting machines that trim and fold the ballots before they are inserted into an envelope with voting instructions, a return envelope and an “I Voted” sticker. 

Every 100th ballot is quality checked to make sure the voter will receive the correct ballot for their precinct. The print quality of every paper roll is also verified.
 
Each ballot envelope has a barcode that matches it to a specific registered voter, which helps us to make sure each voter is only mailed one ballot. 

The Registrar of Voters will deliver ballots to the U.S. Postal Service no later than May 4 for mailing to voters.  Use OC Ballot Express to track the status of your ballot, including when it has been mailed and delivered to you. Learn more at ocvote.gov/track.

Voted ballots are collected from the U.S. Postal Service, our Ballot Drop Boxes and Vote Centers by two-person teams, using strict tracking and chain of custody procedures.

How to Vote in Orange County

Voting for the 2026 Statewide Direct Primary Election will begin on May 4 when every voter in Orange County will be mailed a Vote-By-Mail ballot.

Not only do Orange County voters have multiple days to vote but they can also choose how they want to vote and can take advantage of any one of the four options for casting their ballot.

You can:

Place your ballot into one of 128 ballot drop boxes throughout the county
Use the United States Postal Service to return your ballot
Drop your ballot off at one of 191 Vote Centers throughout the county
Visit a Vote Center to receive and mark an in-person ballot

All methods of voting are safe and secure.
