Accurate Voter Rolls Support Election Integrity
In 2025, the Registrar of Voters completed 713,814 transactions to update voter registration records.
That’s an average of nearly 60,000 updates every month—before, during, and after elections. Over the past six years, we have cancelled over 513,000 voter registrations.
Daily voter file maintenance work is vital to election integrity, and our efforts reflect that commitment.
Voter registration records are updated daily based on information provided by voters and official government sources. Updates include new registrations, changes of address, selections of a political party preference, requests for election materials in a language other than English, and notifications that a voter has died.
The Registrar of Voters also regularly compares voter roll information to databases maintained by third parties such as consumer credit reporting agencies, reviews voter registration files for potentially duplicate records, and encourages voters to re-register when we notice a change in their signatures.
