Vote Early. It’s Easy and Secure.

Headline image for Vote Early. It’s Easy and Secure.

Today and tomorrow are the last days to vote in the 2025 Statewide Special Election. As a reminder, voters have four easy and secure ways to cast their ballot by 8 p.m. on November 4.

  • Return the ballot to any of our 124 official ballot drop boxes or three staffed drop off locations.
  • Use the U.S. Postal Service (USPS) to return the ballot.
  • Drop the ballot off at any of our 66 Vote Centers.
  • Vote an in-person ballot at any Vote Center.

Voters who plan to mail their ballot to the Registrar of Voters are encouraged to provide it to the USPS today.

Ballot envelopes must be postmarked by November 4. Changes earlier this year to mail processing could result in the USPS postmarking ballots the day after they are put in the mail.

Voters who want to mail their ballot on Election Day are encouraged to walk into their post office and request that a hand-stamped postmark be applied.

For more information on completing or casting a ballot, visit ocvote.gov/voting.

All Vote-By-Mail ballots returned before November 4 and accepted for counting as well as in-person ballots cast at Vote Centers will be included in the election results reports posted on November 4.

The first election results report will be posted at 8:05 p.m. on November 4 after Vote Centers close. Updated results reports will be posted at 9:30 p.m. and every half-hour thereafter until all in-person ballots are included in the results. The reporting schedule is posted at ocvote.gov/schedule.

To monitor Orange County election results, please visit ocvote.gov/results. To view a live feed of Election Night operations or to view all results reports posted for this election, go to ocvote.gov/results-report.

Statewide results for Proposition 50 will be posted by the Secretary of State on its website at electionresults.sos.ca.gov.

Our 66 Vote Centers across the county remain open today until 8 p.m. tomorrow, for Election Day, they are open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Five of our Vote Centers provide drive-thru ballot drop off service in the parking lot so voters can cast their Vote-By-Mail ballot from the convenience of their vehicle.

Voters may also visit a Vote Center to drop off their marked Vote-By-Mail ballot or check in to scan their Vote-By-Mail ballot or to receive, mark and cast a new in-person ballot.

All Vote Centers in Orange County meet accessibility standards, are conveniently located throughout the county with free parking, and offer resources for voters with disabilities. These include accessible voting equipment to mark your ballot, American Sign Language interpreter via video conferencing, and curbside voting. Voters who are unable to mark a ballot may bring up to two individuals to assist in voting.

Language assistance is available at all Vote Centers as well. All election information and ballots are translated into Chinese, Korean, Spanish, and Vietnamese. Translated reference ballots in Farsi (Persian), Gujarati, Hindi, Japanese, and Tagalog for eligible precincts are also available.

Visit a Vote Center that is most convenient to you – whether it’s one close to where you live, work, shop, or play – by visiting ocvote.gov/votecenter.

Ballot Drop Box Strike Force
Ballot Drop Box Strike Force

At least two County of Orange employees will be stationed at each of our 124 Ballot Drop Boxes throughout the county during the final five to six hours of voting tomorrow, November 4.

This is our Ballot Drop Box Strike Force Team. These members assist voters with dropping off their Vote-By-Mail ballots, provide traffic control, and ensure no electioneering takes place within 100 feet of the Ballot Drop Box.

Their most important job occurs at 8 p.m. on Tuesday, November 4.

Each Strike Force Team will close and lock their Ballot Drop Box promptly at 8 p.m. or after the last voter in line by 8 p.m. has dropped off their ballot.

Hundreds of County employees representing 19 different County agencies volunteered. Team members use a web application to report in real time when they arrive at their assigned box and when the box is confirmed closed.

To find a Ballot Drop Box near to you, visit ocvote.gov/dropbox.

To receive an email or text notification that the Registrar of Voters has received your Vote-By-Mail ballot, sign up at ocvote.gov/track.

Need to Register to Vote or a Replacement Ballot?
Need to Register to Vote or a Replacement Ballot?

If you missed the regular voter-registration deadline two weeks ago, you can still vote in the 2025 Statewide Special Election.

California permits same-day registration and voting, also known as Conditional Voter Registration.

New voters can fill out a conditional voter registration form in-person at the Registrar of Voters (1300 S. Grand Avenue, Bldg. C, Santa Ana, 92705) or any of our 65 other Vote Centers.

After completing the conditional voter registration form, you will be issued a provisional ballot.

Before going to a Vote Center or our office to request a ballot, we encourage new voters who missed the registration deadline to register online, because it should help expedite the voting process when they arrive. Register to vote at ocvote.gov/registration.

If you have any questions on conditional voter registration and voting provisionally, visit our website at ocvote.gov/cvr or call our Voter Assistance Hotline at 714-567-7600 or 888-OCVOTES.

If you are already registered to vote but your Vote-By-Mail ballot is damaged or you made an error marking it and haven’t cast it yet, you can still get a replacement ballot. You can obtain one in-person at the Registrar of Voters or any of our 65 other Vote Centers throughout the county.
