Election Results Certified
The results for the Orange County 2024 Presidential General Election were certified on Tuesday, December 3. You can view the final official results on the County’s Registrar of Voters website at ocvote.gov/results.
Voter turnout in Orange County for this election was 76.1%.
Of the 1,417,397 ballots cast by voters and counted, 77.2 percent of voters cast a Vote-By-Mail ballot and 22.8 percent cast an in-person ballot at one of 184 Vote Centers throughout the county.
This was the highest percentage of ballots cast in person since Orange County adopted the Voter’s Choice Act election model in 2019. The number of voters casting an in-person ballot in this election also set three other new high marks under the Voter’s Choice Act:
- Number of in-person ballots cast on a single day – more than 137,000 on November 5
- Total number of regular in-person ballots cast in an election – more than 288,000
- Total number of provisional ballots cast in an election – more than 40,000
The Voter’s Choice Act permits voters to vote at any Vote Center in the county rather than assigning each voter to a single neighborhood polling place.
The Orange County Registrar of Voters produces detailed reports and maps focusing on overall results and results by precinct, districts, cities, and more.
These detailed reports can be found by visiting ocvote.gov/detailed-results and ocvote.gov/map-central.

Election Accuracy Verified
Before certification, the accuracy of the 2024 Presidential General Election was verified using several tests and audits.
All ballot scanning and vote tabulation equipment and software was tested after Election Day to ensure the software had not been modified and test ballots were accurately counted. These tests were also conducted before the equipment was used in the election.
More than 39,000 of the 1,415,009 ballots that were cast in this election were randomly selected to be hand counted as part of two audits – the One Percent Manual Tally Audit and the Risk Limiting Audit. Both audits confirmed that the results of the election were correct.
Details on the audits can be found on our website at ocvote.gov/audit. |

Thank You
The Registrar of Voters team thanks the more than 2,000 community members who joined us for this election as extra help employees at our 184 Vote Centers, in the field, and in our office. We also appreciate the 298 high school students who volunteered to work in a Vote Center on Election Day, 274 employees from other County agencies who made sure our 123 Ballot Drop Boxes were locked when polls closed, and our community partners who helped us educate citizens about how to vote.
Together, we helped more than 1.4 million people in the county successfully exercise their right to vote in an accessible, fair, accurate, secure, and transparent election.
Our election team helped their neighbors vote at our Voter Centers; ensured that all Vote-By-Mail ballots were processed correctly; made certain that all voting equipment was functional, accurate and properly delivered; and manually examined and tallied randomly selected ballots as part of two audits.

Confirming Your Ballot Was Counted
The Orange County Registrar of Voters processed all the ballots we received during the 2024 Presidential General Election. This includes all Vote-By-Mail ballots and provisional ballots.
All ballots are tracked, whether they were Vote-By-Mail ballots returned by mail, at a ballot drop box or at a Vote Center, or cast in-person at a Vote Center.
It’s easy to confirm if we received and counted your ballot. Visit ocvote.gov/track to check on your Vote-By-Mail ballot. While there, you can sign up to receive updates regarding the status of your ballot for future elections via text message or email.
You’ll then receive alerts when your ballot is mailed for the next election. Plus, alerts will be sent when your ballot is received and counted by the Orange County Registrar of Voters.
To check whether a provisional ballot was accepted and counted, visit our website at ocvote.gov/provisional and enter the code on your provisional ballot receipt.

Use Your Voice for Voter’s Choice
The Registrar of Voters wants Orange County voters to tell us what you think about how we conduct elections and how we might improve access to voting.
In 2025, we are reviewing and updating our Election Administration Plan (EAP), including voter education and outreach, Vote Centers and Ballot Drop Boxes, language and accessibility services, security and contingency plans.
Orange County’s current 2021-2025 EAP was approved by the California Secretary of State on November 10, 2021, as complying with the requirements of the California Voter’s Choice Act, Elections Code section 4005.
The Act requires Orange County to review and update its EAP every four years. While the Orange County Registrar of Voters has not yet established a 2025 Plan update schedule for public workshops and meetings, voters may submit comments about the elements of the current Plan at any time.
To sign up for our Interested Parties email list to receive updates including community meeting announcements and to provide feedback, visit our website at ocvote.gov/EAP. |
