High School Student Volunteer Program
We are seeking about 400 high school students to volunteer to help their neighbors vote at Vote Centers throughout the county for the 2024 Presidential General Election.
Students who participate will receive a $120 stipend, community service hours, and a certificate of recognition upon successfully completing their Vote Center assignment. Spaces are limited, and applications are closing soon.
To qualify, students must be at least 16 years old, have a GPA of 2.5 or higher, be in good standing at a public or private secondary educational institution, and be a U.S. Citizen or Legal Permanent Resident. Written approval from their school and parent/guardian is also required.
We are particularly interested in candidates who are bilingual in Chinese, Korean, Spanish, or Vietnamese, and who are eager to learn about the electoral process. Responsibilities include attending required training, assisting with opening, and closing operations, and supporting voters throughout Election Day. For more information visit ocvote.gov/student.

Maintaining Accurate Voter Rolls
Voter registration records are updated daily based on information provided by voters and official government sources. These updates include new registrations, changes of address, selections of a political party preference, requests for election materials in a language other than English, and notifications that a voter has died.
The OC Registrar of Voters also regularly compares the information on the voter rolls to databases kept by third parties such as consumer credit reporting agencies, review voter registration files for potentially duplicate records, and encourage voters to re-register when we notice a change in their signatures.
These updates add up to more than 700,000 registration changes annually in Orange County, increasing to more than 1 million in a Presidential Election year. Learn more: ocvote.gov/list-maintenance. |
