Even if you missed the regular voter-registration deadline at 11:59 p.m. 15 days before Election Day, you can still conditionally register to vote and cast a ballot during the 14 days prior to an election and on Election Day.
Conditional Voter Registration (CVR), also known as same-day registration and voting, is available to eligible voters in California pursuant to Election Codes 2170 through 2173.
New voters can conditionally register to vote and receive a ballot after the 15-day registration deadline up until 8 p.m. on Election Day using one of the following methods:
- If you have a signature on file with the DMV, you can register online, confirm your registration was processed, and vote a regular ballot at a Vote Center.
- Register online
- Confirm you are registered here or call our office at 714-567-7600.
- After confirming you are registered, go to a Vote Center to cast a regular ballot.
- You can register and vote a provisional ballot as a conditional voter in the office of the Orange County Registrar of Voters, located at 1300 S. Grand Avenue, Bldg. C, Santa Ana, or at any Vote Center. Provisional ballots must be verified before being included in the vote count. Call 714-567-7600 for full details.
